Simon Hinter, born and raised in a small German town called Siegen first came in contact with deejaying due to a friend when he was fifteen years old. He cheaply purchased two ‘technics 1200′ and from this day on it had happened to him. He spent a lot of time in the local record store ‘Kratzer’, where he also started to work later. There he used the opportunity to listen through HipHop, Funk & Soul and Jazz until his first electronic excursions a few years later.
Simon started to play as a DJ in different local clubs, especially at the periodical ‘Kratzer’-events.
In the year 2000 he started to produce his own tracks. He made his first steps with the reason software which he used for his first little own productions. He learned more and more about sounds, arrangements, software and hardware. “The most I learned through listening and experimenting with software and units. I never used video tutorials or something like that.”
In the next years he got in touch with techno and house music. On several big parties in Cologne and Berlin he got to know big artists and deejays, what paved the way for new inspirations and ideas.
After a long period of self-discovery, parties and different jobs a friend of him listened to his tracks on myspace and asked him for a demo CD. This has been the starting point for his career. The demo got to A+R of “Progcitydeeptrax” who liked his tracks so much that he wanted to put three of them on an EP. Simon finally got his first release: the “Klapps n’Funk EP” (Jan. 2010). He got a lot of positive feedback of great artist that he used to look up to in the past.
One month later the second big request came from the Netherlands. The Label Honcho of ‘Team Records’ heard the EP and asked him for another demo. Hence his second release appeared, the “Take Care EP” (Mar. 2010). This EP also included a great remix of the Finnish Producer Aki Latvamaki
For Simon the year 2010 is of great importance. Through previous releases and gigs he had the chance to start to make himself a name. Two other EP-releases will follow till the end of the year (Teamrecords and Phil) and still more are planned for the upcoming years. Especially because of his diversified influences it will remain exciting to follow his further development.
